ReplyLove this column! Your house sounds a lot like mine and it is nice to hear that other parents don't subscribe to kid's music in the car and try to dance in their car seats just the same.

Thanks Jeannie! I do hope she becomes less picky in the years to come. It does boggle my mind how a child can run screaming from cookies, though!

As a mom of an almost 3-year old who LOVES her crib and is still sleeping in it, I'm not sure I have a lot of suggestions for you. If she still sleeps happily in her crib, I think I'd let go of the big girl bed for a few months letting her sleep in the crib but talking to her each day about how babies sleep in cribs and big girls get to sleep in big girl beds. If she has other friends her age that she admires that are already in their big girl (or boy) beds, I'd probably mention that as well. And then when she is ready to really sleep in and not just play in her bed, I'd get rid of the crib so it's not a temptation.
Good luck! I have friends who have struggled with this and there were many nights of sleeping on the floor for both kids and parents which is why I say don't force it if she'll sleep pretty readily in her crib.
