Rain, Snow Could Cause Road Hazards Tonight

National Weather Service has issued a "hazardous weather outlook" for eastern Mass.; State Police remind motorists to take precautions.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for eastern Massachusetts, including Needham and Norfolk County, and other areas of New England beginning this evening, with possible freezing rain and sleet expected. The local forecast calls for "a chance of rain and snow before 4:00 a.m." followed by rain, with a low around 29 degrees, according to the NWS Web site. However, the report also notes that "little or no snow accumulation [is] expected." The hazardous weather outlook will continue into Thursday and Friday, with strong winds possible, according to the NWS. Beware of Black Ice as Temperatures Drop

The National Weather Service issued a flood and a hazardous weather outlook for Needham and surrounding communities on Wednesday afternoon.

So long, warm weather.  As temperatures in Needham and throughout the region began to drop to a more average level for the month of December on Wednesday, Massachusetts State Police issued a warning about driving in poor weather conditions. The warning comes after the National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook and a flood watch for most of the state, including Needham and much of Norfolk County, on Wednesday.  While some areas throughout the state will see rain change over to snow, Needham will see a majority of rainfall throughout the evening, according to NWS. Extreme Heat, T-Storms Expected in Needham

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook on Wednesday morning.

Needham, Norfolk County and most of eastern Massachusetts could see strong isolated thunderstorms this afternoon and overnight as temperatures and humidity levels skyrocket, the National Weather Service (NWS) warned on Wednesday morning. The NWS issued a hazardous weather outlook for the region on Wednesday morning regarding the thunderstorms. "Otherwise, hot and humid conditions with temperatures in the 90s away from the coast are likely," according to the advisory. "Another chance for strong to severe thunderstorms will occur on Thursday as a cold front pushes through the region.
