Wellesley Police Nab Needham Knife-Taker

The following information was supplied by the Wellesley Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

A kitchen knife in a forest put a man in cuffs over the weekend, according to police reports.  Wellesley police were dispatched to the Whole Foods in Wellesley at about 11:15 a.m. on Sunday morning, where employees reported a shoplifting incident. Staff allege that a man had left without paying for an item, and one employee had followed him down the street and to the brook path.  Officer Hughes arrived on the scene, where the employee identified the man walking away. Police say they called out to the retreating man who threw something into the brook. Officers ran after him, after he was unresponsive to their commands.  56-year-old Greendale Avenue, Needham resident, Timothy Clark was arrested and charged with shoplifting by concealing …

Detectives Arrest 8 for Sale of Cocaine, LSD, Marijuana After Several-Month Investigation

Individuals sold drugs to undercover police officers during a months-long investigation into a local drug ring, which spanned Needham and Wellesley.

Detectives from Wellesley and Needham arrested eight individuals Friday, Feb. 17 for various drug-related offenses, thus ending a several-month investigation into a local ring. Jonathan P. Snyder, 27, of 16 Yale Rd., Needham; Carlos Bruno, 18, of 43 Barton Rd.; Keaton Stacks, 17, of 17 Cedar St.; John R. Gruber, 21, of 83 Westgate Rd.; Jack Yan, 21, of 769 Worcester St.; Douglas Contreras, 21, of 10 Prospect St., Waltham; and two 16-year-old males were arrested in the investigation. Charges brought against some of the accused include possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance (cocaine, Percocet pills) and LSD. Wellesley and Needham detectives, assisted by the regional NORPAC task force, obtained a warrant on Feb. 17 to charge…

How many bills in circulation have residue cocaine on it? I'd rather see them stop the speeders and red light runners that are a bigger concern when it comes to the safety of this town.   more ›
