Police Reports: Car Burglar Advises Owner to Lock His Doors

The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

A would-be car burglar who removed a box of coupons from a vehicle on Meetinghouse Circle left the box on the owner’s doorstep with a note advising him to “lock your doors.” The vehicle owner called police on Sunday, Sept. 4 around 9:00 a.m. to report that someone had gone through his vehicle sometime after 8:00 p.m. the night before. The vehicle had been unlocked and was parked in the driveway, according to reports. The only thing missing was the box of coupons, which was left on his doorstep with the note. Police Reports: Wine, Vodka Stolen from Vehicle

The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

Two bottles of Vodka, five bottles of wine and several other items were stolen from a vehicle parked on Burr Drive last weekend. The vehicle owner called police around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6 to report that her vehicle had been broken into the night before. Taken were two bottles of Ketel One Vodka, five bottles of wine, two pairs of Maui Jim sunglasses, two phone chargers, a bag of loose change and a Gallant golf bag with several golfing items, according to police reports. The golf bag and its contents were found at the end of the driveway, damaged from the sprinkler system. The vehicle was not locked. Police Reports: iPod, Sunglasses Taken in Vehicle Break-ins

The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

A Central Terrace resident called police on Saturday after his vehicles were broken into for the third time. The resident told police that someone had entered two of his vehicles, a BMW SUV and a Chevy passenger van, between 1:40 and 6:30 a.m. on Friday, July 15 and taken several items, according to reports. Stolen were a pair of Coach sunglasses, quarters and other change. The man told police both vehicles had been left unlocked. He said it was the third time his vehicles had been broken into. Neighbors who saw police in the area also reported that change had been stolen from their vehicle sometime that week, according to reports. The incidents remain under investigation.
