Needham Actors To Perform in CAAP Arts Fest

The free performances will be on stage at the Park School in Brookline on July 26 and 27.

Needham residents Gianlucca Zaccai and Samantha Hung will be featured in Creative Arts at Park's upcoming free Arts Festival, set Thursday, July 26 and Friday, July 27 at the Park School in Brookline. The local actors will perform in one of three family-friendly shows—the musical "Norbert Beany is ACTION MAN!" The day-long festival will showcase the work of more than 200 young people from several Greater Boston communities in the visual and performing arts. The festival is the culmination of CAAP’s five-week multi-arts program. 'The Odd Couple' Moves in to NHS

Neil Simon's classic 1965 play is coming to the high school stage May 4 and 5.

For better or worse, Oscar Madison and Felix Ungar will be together again this weekend, in Needham High School’s production of “The Odd Couple.” Performed by members of the NHS Theatre Arts Society, the show is based on the 1965 play by Neil Simon, which was later adapted both for a film (1968) and a television series (1970-75). The play will run on Friday, May 4 and Saturday, May 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the NHS auditorium. Though many viewers may be familiar with the story of the two mismatched roommates, here is a brief synopsis for those who aren’t: “The show is about two friends, Oscar and Felix, who are both divorced, and they end up moving in together and find that their personalities clash more than a little bit,” explained Mollie Baker, …

NHS Bringing 'Drowsy Chaperone' to Local Stage

Spring musical will be performed March 16, 17 and 18 at Newman auditorium

After performing a very solemn, serious play this fall, the young actors at Needham High School will be changing gears for their spring production, bringing the high-energy, hilarious musical-within-a-musical “The Drowsy Chaperone” to the local stage this weekend. The musical will be performed Friday, March 16 and Saturday, March 17 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 18 at 2 p.m. in the auditorium of Newman Elementary School. Tickets are on sale now for $15 through the NHS Fine and Performing Arts office and will also be available at the door. “It’s really fun.
