Police Reports: No Solicitors, Light Post Down

  No Solicitors Monday, 4:15 p.m. Police received a report of a suspicious person in the North Hill Avenue area soliciting services. Police are investigating.  Locker Phone Theft During football practice on Monday, a Lynn Road resident reported that her son's phone had been stolen from the locker room at about 6:15 p.m., Monday. Police Reports: Fifth Grader's Cell Phone Stolen

A Newman Elementary School fifth grader reported that his cell phone was stolen from his locker sometime early on Thursday, Oct. 25. The student lockers are open and do not have doors or locks. Several calls and text messages were made from the phone since it was taken. The matter is under investigation. Police Reports: $3,000 Stolen in Dunkin’ Break-in

Needham Police were called to Dunkin’ Donuts, 1203 Highland Ave. on Monday, Oct. 22 at 5:40 a.m. for the report of a break-in. During an investigation, it was determined that about $3,000 had been stolen from the business. Police are investigating. Other incidents included in the Oct. 30 Needham Police reports: Tradesman Trying to Find Work Calls Repeatedly  Police responded to an Arlington Street business on Monday, Oct. 22 for the report of harassing phone calls. The reporting party told police he worked at a temp agency and helped out-of-work tradesmen find work. One of the people he was trying to help had reportedly gotten upset when the individual was unable to find the man some work—calling more than 25 times over 45 minutes. The …

A Sterling Road resident reported on Saturday, Oct. 20 that their Halloween decorations were stolen. Needham police encountered the man, 57-year-old Gilbert James of Boston, at around 9:45 a.m. on Wexford Street. Police Reports: Suspicious Male Sets Off Alarm at High School

The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

Police responded to an alarm at Needham High School on Friday, Oct. 18 at around 4:55 a.m. and discovered a male party inside the building. When the individual saw the officer, he reportedly ran away. Police entered the locked building and checked it out with the help of a police K-9 unit. No suspects were located. The matter remains under investigation. Police Reports: Pistol Missing From Storage Unit

A former Lasalle Road resident who now lives in New York City called police on Thursday, July 19 to report that a pistol he owned had gone missing from a storage unit in Dedham. The last time he had seen the gun was at the unit in 2010. Police gave the man instructions on how to proceed with the matter. Other incidents noted in the Needham Police reports: Roof Caving in at Green Street Home Police were called to a Green Street residence for the report of a roof caving in on Thursday, July 19 at around 7 a.m. Police notified the homeowner, who was not home at the time of the incident. A break-in was reported at Needham Martial Arts Center on Saturday, July 7 at around 10:30 a.m. Money and other items were reported stolen from the business. The matter is under investigation. Needham Man Arrested for Drunk Driving, Resisting Arrest

The following information was supplied by the Norwood Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

Norwood Police arrested a 19-year-old Needham man for allegedly driving drunk after he nearly struck a police vehicle on Route 1 northbound early Wednesday morning. According to Norwood Police logs, the Hillside Avenue resident sped by two officers who had responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 1 at around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, nearly striking one of them. Officers located and stopped the man's vehicle traveling on the northbound side of Route 1 near Jack Madden Ford. The Needham driver will be charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, as well as several traffic infractions.

Police Reports: NHS Student Found with Pot, Knife

A Needham High School student was cited for marijuana possession after school staff reported that he appeared to be under the influence on Tuesday, June 11. A small amount of marijuana and a pocket knife were allegedly found on the 15-year-old's person. Along with the civil citation, he was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon. Police Reports: Man Sleeping on Tracks Arrested on Outstanding Warrants

The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

A Weymouth man was arrested on several outstanding warrants after he was found sleeping on railroad tracks near Gould Street on Saturday, June 9. Police responded to the report of a man asleep on the tracks at around 8:20 a.m. When confronted, the man originally gave a false name but appeared to be intoxicated and was taken into protective custody by Needham Police. He was later identified as being a 41-year-old Weymouth resident who had several outstanding warrants including assault and battery of a disabled person and larceny over $250, out of Brockton District Court, and bylaw violation, intimidation of a witness, threat to commit a crime, destruction of property over $250 and disturbing the peace, out of Quincy District Court.
