All aboard! With the holidays coming up, the Polar Express is starting to run on the Cape Cod Central Railroad. The Conductor, however, is making the rounds at the local YMCA sites around the area, including the Charles River YMCA in Needham. After asking the kids about Chris Van Allsburg's famous book and the 2004 film, he brought out enough cookies for everyone. I am not one to plop my kids down in front of the TV. As a matter of fact, there is little to no TV during the week in our house. Frankly, we have too many other things going on, so it is hardly missed. But I will confess to loving the holiday classics. My father and I had a silly love for Dr. Seuss’ "How The Grinch Stole Christmas." I am not even sure why, other than his love for imitating The Grinch’s very evil face and labeling a few of my gifts "From: The Grinch."
