The number of home sales from February of last year dropped fairly significantly, however condo sales did see an increase.
Home sales in the Commonwealth are down a little from this time last year, according to new data from the Warren Group. Sales are down five percent from February of last year and February of this year, according to statistics gathered by the Warren Group, the Boston-based real estate and banking information publishers for New England. At the end of February, Needham had a total of 11 home sales, a 50 percent drop from the 22 completed in 2012. The number of completed foreclosures increased slightly, Needham did see more people start the foreclosure process in 2012 compared to 2011.
Along with an 8.8 percent increase in home sales in 2012, the total number of completed foreclosures in Needham looks relatively stable compared to last year, according to statistics gathered by the Warren Group, the Boston-based real estate and banking information publishers for New England. At the end of 2012, Needham had a total of 4 foreclosure deeds, a 33.33 percent rise from the 3 completed in 2011. Foreclosure deeds represent a completed foreclosure, according to the Warren Group press release. Needham did see fewer foreclosure auctions in 2012, dropping 24 percent from 25 total auctions in 2011 to 19 auctions in 2012. Figures from the Warren Group compare Dec 2011 to Dec 2012, showing sales in Needham are relatively stable.
At the end of 2012, figures show that single-family home sales have increased in Needham by 8.82 percent over the same 12 month period in 2011, according to statistics gathered by the Warren Group, the Boston-based real estate and banking information publishers for New England. By the end of December, 34 single-family homes were sold in Needham, 3 more than those sold by the end of December 2011. According to the press release, overall Massachusetts home sales rose 18 percent in December. The total number of homes sold statewide were 46,887, an increase from 39,594 home sales in 2011.
