According to a press release from the Needham Police Department, a 14-year-old male from Needham has been arrested and is in custody after an incident on Helen Road earlier tonight. At about 5 p.m., police and fire responded to 16 Helen Road, where a woman was reportedly stabbed in the abdomen, according to scanner reports earlier today. Police say she has been transported to the Beth Israel hospital, and is in serious condition. The suspect was arrested after a short search of the area. Original Report Scanner reports say a female has been stabbed in the stomach at 16 Helen Road. The perpetrator is said to have fled the scene. Police have requested canine help to pursue the perp. A car crashed into a jersey barrier in Needham.
UPDATE, 1:16 p.m.: According to State Police, the 57-year-driver, a Bridgewater resident, "left the highway" and continued to drive on an unpaved construction road near exit 15. As he neared exit 17, the car hit a construction truck and fell down an embankment. The driver was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police are investigating whether the driver had a medical issue. -- UPDATE, 11:45 a.m.: According to WBZ-TV, the crash technically took place in Dedham when a driver entered an off-limits roadway near a construction zone and became stuck on a jersey barrier.
