If you need a new recipe for your Thanksgiving turkey, give one of these non-traditional twists a try.

There are many ways to cook everyone’s favorite holiday bird. Each family has its own special technique for cooking a turkey, whether it's using an old family recipe, adding a secret ingredient or shopping at a certain store in town that helps make the turkey taste all the better. You can pick up the turkey itself from Owen's Poultry Farm, Sudbury Farms, Roche Bros., or Trader Joe's. Many of these places may also offer a pre-cooked option. However, if you want to bake it yourself, we have a few recipes. If you're hosting Thanksgiving this year, you can try any of the recipes below to add a new kick to your feast. Raising Needham: Thanksgiving Has Gone to the Kids

This Thanksgiving, I have decided to let the kids rule and sit back and enjoy the ride.

  I am hosting Thanksgiving this year and couldn’t be happier about it. Mainly because I get to see my family, but also because we don’t have to endure the busiest travel day of the year via planes, trains and automobiles. I will be sure to remember that when my brothers show up with their families looking tired and defeated. The prospect of my sister-in-law's delicious cooking and a few rounds of ping-pong (family tradition) will surly cure what ails them. But I think the best part about this Thanksgiving will be my “let the kids take over” mentality. I feel like my kids are finally old enough, along with their cousins, to really get involved.
