On Tuesday night, the Gymnastics Team wrapped up the BSC Carey Division Title as they took down the host Rebels of Walpole.  With the win, the Girls move to 8-1 on the …

Rockets Review: Buzzer Beater over Brookline, Wrestling at BSC Quad

A quick look at Needham High School sports action over the past week

The following was submitted by Needham High Athletics: Needing a win to to keep the possibilities of a trip to the postseason alive, the Boys Basketball waited until the final tick of the clock on Tuesday night to take down BSC Carey Division rival, and top-20 Brookline. Trailing 53-54 with just under 30 seconds left in the game, Needham set up a play for Senior Robbie McKittrick, who got an open look at a 3, but whose shot was just off.  Senior Connor McLeod gathered the long rebound and tossed up what he thought would be the final shot of the game, which was just off target, however, Junior John Madsen found himself all alone under the basket for the rebound, and had just enough time to lay the ball in as time expired for the thrilling …

A quick look at Needham High School sports action over the past week. Mandatory anti-bullying meeting today 2:40 p.m.

The following was sent by the Needham Wrestling Team: This past week saw NHS Wrestling drop a close one to Bay State League Rival and state powerhouse Framingham, 41-30 on Thursday, and then travel to the Woburn Invitational on Saturday where one Rocket took home Gold. At Framingham, the visiting Rockets took six of the fourteen bouts, earning four pins along the way: "Those guys (their opponents) weren't wrestling," said Associate Head Coach Nick Gamble. "That was their game plan-they knew they couldn't beat those guys and they just stalled by the edge of the mat to save pin points..." Despite the strategy, Carroll rolled to a major decision, 13-1, and Khibkin downed his Framingham Captain opponent, 9-4. The loss brought NHS wrestling …
