The Democratic candidate is facing off against Republican Sean Bielat in the Fourth Congressional District race.

Democratic congressional candidate Joe Kennedy III joined us for a live chat with Patch readers on Friday, Oct. 12. Fourth Congressional District candidate Joe Kennedy III took reader questions in a live text chat on Oct. 12, starting at 1 p.m.  Kennedy, a Democrat, is running against Republican Sean Bielat to fill the seat of retiring Congressman Barney Frank of Newton.  The chat lasted roughly 45 minutes, and readers were invited to submit questions. A recap of the chat will be posted later this afternoon.  Bielat participated in a similar live chat Q&A yesterday. Questions submitted will be subject to moderator approval. No vulgar or libelous comments will be allowed. Because we expect a high volume of questions for the chat session, we will keep the questions issue-related and not repetitive.

Shannon O'Brien: 'Make Or Break Night for Mitt Romney'

Democrat who debated Romney in 2002 said Barack Obama must be on his toes tonight.

Mitt Romney's been down in the polls before, said Shannon O'Brien, the former Massachusetts state treasurer who battled him for governor in 2002. "I've seen him turn things around." O'Brien is referring to their 2002 debate, which was seen as a springboard for the millionaire businessman. Romney has since sparred in numerous GOP debates, in 2008 and 2012, and has smoothed out some of that stiff Romney from yesteryear, she said in an interview with Patch.
