Good news for anyone who enjoyed last year's Farmers Market. They had so much fun, they're back for more! The Needham Farmers Market returns on June 2, from 1-5 p.m. on the front lawn of First Parish in Needham, according to an announcement Farmers Market spokesperson organizers. Who can you expect to see opening this year's market? First week vendors include the MacArthur Farm, The Neighborhood Farm, Big Sky Bakery, Globe Fish, Lilac Hedge, Foxboro Cheese, Nella Pasta and Two Brothers Cookies. New for this year is the Chef in House program, which will start on the second week. Each week, a local chef will join market shoppers on short tours for about an hour. The first Needham Farmers Market opened to blue skies and perfect weather Sunday afternoon, June 10, on the front lawn of First Parish in Needham—drawing a steady stream of shoppers by car, foot and on bike to shop from a variety of fresh produce, plants, meat, baked goods and other items. “It’s been a great turnout, really. Every comment has been very positive, about the farmers market and what it’s bringing to Needham. There are a lot of very happy people,” said Jeff Friedman, president of the Needham Farmers Market Board of Directors. More than one year after Town Meeting voted to allow a farmers market in town, by special permit, the first Needham Farmers Market will make its debut today, from 1-5 p.m. on the front lawn of First Parish in Needham. The market will be open every Sunday through Oct. 28 from 1-5 p.m. Vendors will be selling vegetables, fruits, baked goods, cheese, fish, meat and more at the weekly market.
