DA's Office Offers Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Addiction Posters

Norfolk County DA's office offers them online, free for the printing and posting.

Parents Key in Preventing Dating Violence

Local action committee is raising awareness of the issue of teen dating violence during the month of October, which is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

This fall, the nation’s attention has once more refocused on teen dating violence. Last week, Vice President Biden called on the nation’s teens to collectively organize and share their ideas for preventing dating violence and sexual assault through the “1is2many” campaign. The SAFE Teen Act (Senate Bill 1447), which would expand use of existing funds for teen dating violence prevention, is now winding its way into committee, and a new iPhone app called “Love is Not Abuse” is teaching parents about the signs of dating abuse. All of this isn’t enough. In Massachusetts, one in 10 teens are physically or sexually assaulted by a dating partner. Most teen victims of dating violence don’t tell anyone.
