Hemlock Gorge Reservation
1 Hamilton Pl, Needham, MA 02494

Comprised of land in Needham and Newton, this 23-acre reservation is book ended by the massive Echo Bridge and theMore smaller waterfalls that encompass the gorge. The park's name derives from the abundance of Hemlock trees that dot the landscape.

The granite and brick Echo Bridge that stands above the Charles River was originally constructed in 1877 by the Boston Water Works. At the time, it was the second largest masonry arch in the country. Visitors today can walk across the bridge, gaining a view of the Charles below.

The park is open year round from dawn to dusk. Parking can be found on Hamilton Place.

The Great Places in Massachusetts Commission named Hemlock Gorge as one of its 1,000 places to visit in Massachusetts.
