Claxton Field
Claxton Field was dedicated in 1966 to Philip H. Claxton, "the pioneer of public recreation in the Town of Needham for many years," as stated by a plaque that greets guests at the entranceway. For years, Needham residents have flocked to the site for its two adult softball fields and its soccer field.
Games can now be watched on the recently added bleachers, and visitors can also make use of Claxton's picnic area with grills. Younger children will find a playground on-site and water fountains are also available. Public restrooms exist, but are currently under renovation.
