Music Together to Hold Weekend Classes

WEEKEND WEATHER

Saturday: There is a 60 percent chance of rain showers. It won’t be as cool, with highs around 50. Saturday night there is a 70 percent chance of showers. There will be near steady temperatures in the upper 40s.

SATURDAY EVENTS

10:15 a.m.: Music Together of Wellesley and Needham, 31 Central St., Wellesley, will hold weekend classes that give you and your family room to move, dance and play with teachers. Sing songs to chase away the winter blues, explore a wide variety of child-safe instruments and receive two CDs, a songbook and a DVD which enhance the growth and learning at home. Weekend classes begin this weekend. 2 p.m.: Dan Kennedy will host the McIver Lecture Series at Needham Public Library. Kennedy is an assistant professor of journalism at Northeastern University in Boston and a nationally known media commentator who writes for the Nieman Journalism Lab, The Huffington Post and other publications. He is a panelist on “Beat the Press,” an award-winning weekly media roundtable on WGBH-TV (Channel 2). This is the first in a series of three lectures, discussing the present and future of gathering and disseminating the news.

8 p.m. The Winter Wonderland Social Dance Party will take place at Dance Republic, 10 Prescott St.,, Wellesley. Come by yourself or with a partner and enjoy a night of ballroom and latin dancing. SUNDAY EVENTS

3 p.m.: If you are looking for a new fun workout, visit Dance Republic, 10 Prescott St., Wellesley. It is a combination of mat based slow flow body conditioning exercises paired with cardio and strengthening exercises that will keep a smile on your face and your heart pumping in time to the latin beat.
