Monday Essentials: Crowdfunding, Hearing Aid Aids and More!

Five things you need to know this week for Needham and Wellesley, for the week of August 12, 2013.

1. Weather looks like it'll be a warm, sunny day-- a high of 82ºF and mostly sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service. Come the evening, there is a chance of showers, estimated about 30 percent by the NWS, along with a low of 65ºF.

2. Needham's B.I.G. Pod is talking about Crowdfunding Your Next Business projects today, should anyone be curious about what crowdfunding is and how it could help with opportunities. They're meeting 10 a.m. today at The Center Cafe in Needham.

3. Can you hear me now? Well, if not, then Waterstone at Wellesley is hosting a hearing Aid checkup on Wednesday. A free check of your hearing aids, keep them in working order. They do want you to RSVP. For more information or to RSVP, call 781-235-1614.

4. The One Fund is starting a revolution with ice cream. Two players from the New England Revolution are taking over Ben and Jerry's on Newbury Street in Boston. New England Revolution stars Saer Sene and Jerry Bengtson take over ‘Sene & Jerry’s’ to serve up a charity scoop on Thursday at 4 p.m.

5. The Needham Junior Cheer Car Wash is this saturday, which is convenient if your car is, like mine, a bit grimy. For a $5, in cash or by check, the team will get it sparkling clean. All you have to do is drive over to Claxton Field Parking Lot on Central Ave in Needham after 9 a.m., and they will make it so.
