2. World War I lecture
Needham Public Library will host a series of lectures by Dr. Gary Hylander about World War I Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 7:30 p.m. This is the first in a four lecture series on World War I, in this 100th anniversary year commemorating the cataclysmic event. Dr. Gary Hylander is an adjunct professor at Framingham State University and Stonehill College.
3. School Committee meeting
The Needham School Committee will meet 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21. There will be a public hearing on the fiscal year 2015 budget.
4. Finance Committee meeting
The Finance Committee will meet 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22. They will review the fiscal year 2015 operating budget and fiscal year 2015 to 2019 capital requests.
5. Movie showing of “Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters”“Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters” will be shown 3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24. This movie is rated PG and is 106 minutes. The magical, mythical adventures of teenager Percy Jackson—son of the Greek god Poseidon—continue in this heroic, action-packed thrill ride. Out to prove he’s not just a “one-quest wonder,” Percy and his demigod friends embark on an epic, cross country journey into the treacherous Sea of Monsters, where they battle terrifying creatures, an army of zombies, and the ultimate evil.
