Needham Turns Out for Fourth of July Parade

Bright and early on Independence Day, Needham celebrates the holiday with a big parade that runs through the town center and then heads to Memorial Field.

Marshalling the parade, Head Coach Don Brock. The event itself--and all of the events at Memorial Field--are sponsored by the Exchange Club.

Congressman Joe Kennedy, who joined the town for a flag raising and was in the parade, released the following statement about Independence Day:

“Every 4th of July this country celebrates the things that make us who we are: our rich history, fierce patriotism, unshakeable sense of community, and shared commitment to liberty and justice for all.  In remembering where we came from, we extend our deepest gratitude to those who sacrificed to get us where we are today. Together, we commit ourselves once again to a more perfect union – to a country that is fairer and freer than ever before.”

What were some of your favorite moments in the parade? Which floats did you like the most?
