After beating their opponents Friday, June 8 in the late stages of the MIAA tournament, both tennis teams will advance to the next phase this weekend.
The top-seeded boys tennis team defeated Boston College High School 5-0 in a match that was moved indoors to Wimbledon 109 in Walpole at 2:45 p.m. on Friday, June 8. The team will next face Wellesley in the Division 1 South Final on Saturday, June 9 at 3 p.m. at Newton North High School.
Meanwhile, the No. 2 girls tennis team defeated Notre Dame Academy in a 1:30 p.m. match Friday at Boston Sports Club in Wellesley. (The match was also moved indoors in anticipation of inclement weather.) The girls will now play Barnstable in the Division 1 South Final on Sunday, June 10 at noon at Sandwich High School.
Also moving on in the tournament, the boys lacrosse team—which beat Masonomet 9-8 on Wednesday, June 6—will host BC High in the D1 East Semifinal on Saturday, June 9. The game will begin at 5 p.m. at .
Tickets to the home lacrosse game are available at the gate and cost $5 for students and senior citizens and $7 for adults. Children ages 6 and under get in free.
The girls lacrosse team fell to Westwood 12-9 on Friday but came in as the Division 1 South runner-up with an excellent season record of 22-2.
