New NHS Softball Coach Named

Stephanie Magni comes to Needham from Regis College

By Micah Hauben, Needham Public Schools Director of Athletics

Stephanie Magni has been named the new head coach for the varsity softball team. Magni comes to us with a strong softball and coaching background and we are looking forward to having her on staff.

Magni is a graduate of Newton North High School, where she was a two-sport varsity athlete as a field hockey player and an all-league member of the softball team. She went on to excel at Nichols College in both sports and was named the school’s Athlete of the Year in her junior and senior years.

After earning her business degree with a concentration in sports management from Nichols, Magni joined the Regis College staff, where she served as an assistant softball and field hockey coach and earned her master’s degree in communications.

This past fall she was named the interim head field hockey coach at Regis and helped lead the Pride to their first ever New England Collegiate Conference Championship. In her time at Regis, Coach Magni coached six all-conference athletes.
