In the 13th annual Powder Puff Classic Flag Football Game, the Wellesley High School senior girls lost to Needham 28-6.
Wellesley and Needham police officers coached the teams. According to a video released by Wellesley Police Department, the powder puff game began in an unofficial capacity that sometimes resulted in fights, injuries and underage drinking. The two Police Departments worked together to make sure the game was done more safely.
The game, which was hosted by Needham High School, took place Thanksgiving Eve. It is a precursor to the annual boys varsity Thanksgiving football game.
