Summer Reading Ideas for Needham Kids

Local educators offer a list of great books for elementary schoolers to read while school is out.

While summer reading is not required for Needham elementary school students, local educators recommend that parents encourage their children to continue reading over the summer.

A great way to do this is to have the kids sign up for the at the , where they can track their reading and even earn prizes for every few hours completed.

Suggested titles range from picture books such as "The Little Red Pen" by Janet Stevens to beginning reader books such as the Fly Guy series or "I Want My Hat Back" by Jon Klassen to early chapter and young reader books such as the Big Nate, Dragonbreath, Ivy and Bean and Penderwicks series.
