True North Presents, 'Boston Expressionism in a Digital Age'

Did you know that artists living and working in Boston during the mid-20th century were: a) painting realistically at a time when abstraction was on the rise; b) inspired by expressionists of an earlier age; and c) helped influence the course of American art?

Join North Hill, the evolution of senior living, and learn about Boston Expressionism. Find out about the importance of Boston artists to American art history. Discover why this technique still holds tremendous sway, helping to establish an “expressive voice” in contemporary art making and expand our consideration of painting in a digital age.

The imaginative use of color and expressive handling of paint by Boston Expressionists influenced such painters as Pollack and DeKooning, with great impact on American art.
