Average Needham Teacher Salary $81K—Among Highest in State, Report Says
Needham teachers are among the highest paid, said a recent report.
The average teacher in the Needham school system last year earned $81,062—the 29th highest figure in the state, according to a new report by the Boston Business Journal.
The Concord-Carlisle school system last year earned $95,947, the highest average in the state. The community of Florida in western Massachusetts came in last with $35,497.
"There's really not much consistency among local towns and cities when it comes to teacher salaries and employment," the report, posted by the Journal's Craig Douglas, said. "Some communities are spending more than ever, while others are below where they were before the last recession."
