State Primary Today: What Needham Voters Should Know

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Needham voters will head to the polls today for the State Primary, helping to select candidates that will represent their political parties in the Nov. 6 election.

The local polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. in all 10 precincts. Voters in precincts C and D will continue to vote at the library during the primary but will return to their previous location, at , for the Nov. 6 election, according to Town Clerk Tedi Eaton. Newman has been undergoing renovations for the past year.

Polling locations for the Sept. 6 State Primary are as follows:

  • Precinct A— cafeteria, 28 Glen Gary Rd.
  • Precinct B—Hillside Elementary School cafeteria, 28 Glen Gary Rd.
  • Precinct C— library, 77 Ferndale Rd.
  • Precinct D—High Rock School library, 77 Ferndale Rd.
  • Precinct E— inner room, 200 Harris Ave.
  • Precinct F— Community Room, 83 Pickering St.
  • Precinct G— performance center, 120 Broad Meadow Rd.
  • Precinct H—Broadmeadow Elementary School performance center, 120 Broad Meadow Rd.
  • Precinct I— gym, 187 Brookline St.
  • Precinct J—Mitchell Elementary School gym, 187 Brookline St.

Who's on the ballot?

Voters in precincts A-C, I and J, who are part of the Norfolk, Bristol and Middlesex District, will see different candidates for state senator than voters in precincts D-H, who are part of the Norfolk and Suffolk District. All other ballot sections will be the same for all 10 precincts.

In addition to the Democratic and Republican party ballots, Needham residents could receive a Green-Rainbow Party ballot if they have registered with that party; however, no candidates appear on the Green-Rainbow ballot for the Sept. 6 State Primary.

The 2012 State/Presidential Election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6. The last day to register to vote in the presidential election is Wednesday, Oct. 17.
