Candidate Profile: Sean Bielat, MA Fourth District

After challenging Barney Frank in 2010, and giving Frank one of the closest races in his 30-year career, Bielat is giving the Fourth District seat another shot. He is running in the Republican primary for the seat, which will be held Sept. 6.

As we gear up for Thursday's primary, Patch wants readers to stay informed as they head to the voting booths. We recently sent out questionnaires to all the Fourth Congressional District candidates. Below are responses from Republican candidate Sean Bielat:

OTHER FACTS

Sean Bielat is a family man, business man, and a Marine. In 2010, Sean's campaign to retire Barney Frank and to represent Massachusetts 4th Congressional District received national attention. Despite running against a 16-term incumbent, in a highly gerrymandered district, and being outspent by $2 million, the Bielat for Congress campaign managed to get within striking distance of victory. Sean and his wife Hope are residents of Norfolk, MA. They are the proud parents of Theodore, born in August 2010, and Seraphina, born November of last year. Sean currently leads a non-partisan online messaging platform. He also serves as an officer in the Marine Corps Reserve. Sean worked his way through college and graduate school, aided by scholarships and the GI Bill. He now holds a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown University. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Council on Emerging National Security Affairs.
