Vandalism to Construction Site, Home, Community Room

The following are excerpts from the Needham police log. An arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, July 15 

  • At 5:34 a.m., police responded to a construction site on St. Mary Street for a report of vandalism. When police got there, they saw a pickup truck with smashed out windows. Also, all windows of a backhoe were broken out, and a port-potty had been knocked over. 
  • At 9 a.m., police responded to Seabed's Way to investigate a report of past vandalism done to the community room. The vandalism consisted of food thrown against the floor and walls. The estimate to clean up the room is $5,000. 
  • At 11:09 a.m., police headed to St. Mary's Street to talk with a resident about vandalism, which included several outdoor solar lights damaged 
  • At 4:37 p.m., multiple units headed to Hillside Ave. and West Street for a two-car crash. One operator was transported to the hospital by the Needham Fire Department. One was issued a citation for going through a stop sign. 
  • At 8:13 p.m., police took a report of suspicious calls at a Harris Ave. address. The victim, a 62-year-old Needham resident, said she received four calls asking for personal information.
