Theft at Stone Hearth Pizza; Two-Car Crash on Greendale Lands One in Hospital

The following are excerpts from the Needham police log. An arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, June 9 

  • At 3:10 p.m., police stopped a car for an inspection sticker violation. The operator didn't have a license - only a permit. The passenger didn't have a license either. Both are students at a local college. The car was towed, and the 18-year-old woman driver will be summonsed to court. 

Tuesday, June 10 

  • Police responded to a report that a woman's car was keyed while parked in the lot behind a Great Plain Ave. business during the morning of June 7.  
Wednesday, June 11 

  • At 10:26 a.m., police stopped a car on Central Ave. The operator's license had been suspended. The 27-year-old Needham man will be summonsed to court. 
  • At 12:10 p.m., an employee of a Highland Ave. business reported that his car had been broken into while he was working. Coins and his wallet were taken. 
  • At 10:40 p.m., police responded to a Great Plain Ave. address for a past commercial B&E. During the afternoon a small amount of cash was taken from Stone Hearth Pizza. 
  • At 1 p.m., police responded to the intersection of Junction Street and Granite Street for a report of a lost number plate from a dump truck. 
Thursday, June 12

  • At 2:55 p.m., police saw a car on Highland Ave. with a break light out. After the traffic stop, police arrested Jose Buruca, 25, East Boston, on warrants for operating after suspension. 
  • At 4 p.m., place arrested Jose Buruca, 25, 130 Marion St., East Boston, and charged him with driving without a license and equipment violation 
  • At 7:08 p.m., police investigated a two-car crash on Greendale Ave. A 34-year-old Taunton woman was taken to the hospital for treatment. The other vehicle was unoccupied.
