Stolen Property in Needham Police Log: Nov. 18 - 21

The following information was provided by Needham Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Nov. 18

8:10 a.m.: Police reported to a Central Avenue residence to recover property found by the homeowner. The property was found in the marshland near his home and appeared to be items that are commonly stolen or are a result of a larceny. The items are in the custody of the detectives and they will be investigating further.

11:49 a.m.: A Tower Avenue resident reported her car was struck while it was parked in front of a Great Plain Avenue address. This occurred Saturday, Nov. 15 between 8 p.m. and midnight.

12:04 p.m.: Police responded to a single vehicle crash where an operator of a motorcycle fell off his bike and received minor injuries. The operator was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess where he was treated and released.

1:23 p.m.: A Rosemary Street resident reported she had left her iPhone in a Great Plain Avenue restaurant and went out to her car. When she returned to the restaurant the phone was gone. A report was filed.

3:35 p.m.: A Fair Oaks Park resident reported fraudulent use of his credit card.

7:08 p.m.: A Noanett Road resident reported an ongoing issue with annoying phone calls to residence.


Tuesday, Nov. 19

8:21 a.m.: Police responded to a Highland Circle business for a report that someone removed the catalytic convertor from a work van.


Wednesday, Nov. 20

12:12 p.m.: Police responded to a Highland Avenue residence on a reported larceny. One resident let another resident use a debit card to make small purchases. Both parties agreed that the money will be repaid over a period of time.

3:12 p.m.: Police responded to the rear parking lot of a Highland Avenue business. The Tudor Road resident stated she was the victim of a hit and run accident. An officer observed fresh scuff marks and a small dent on the driver’s side rear doors of the vehicle. The vehicle was parked in a painted space from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. No suspects at this time.

4:37 p.m.: Police responded to the Town Forest after the station received multiple calls of two teenagers walking in the woods with rifles. The two teenagers were located and found to be in possession of pellet guns. The State Environmental Police advised the teenagers they were not allowed to use the pellet guns on town property and they were released to their parents.

5:12 p.m.: Police took a report from a walk-in party regarding a lost cellular phone at a Great Plain Avenue address. The reporting party stated that a white iPhone 5 was lost at approximately 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17 in a local restaurant. The value of the phone is approximately $500 and has yet to be recovered as of the report.


Thursday, Nov. 21

12:49 p.m.: A walk-in reported that a sub-contractor had pushed him in his office. Police advised him if he wanted to seek charges he could go to the district court.

1:09 p.m.: Police responded to a Hasenfus Circle residence for a reported past larceny. According to the reporting party she had several items of jewelry stolen this past week. The matter is under investigation.

2:34 p.m.: Police were dispatched to Eliot School for a report of a disturbance. Prior to arrival one party left the scene. The disturbance was a verbal argument.

5:13 p.m.: Police arrested Desahwn Sanders, 29, of East 102nd St., New York City, N.Y. and charged him with domestic assault and battery on Chestnut Street.

8:19 p.m.: Walk-in reported vandalism to a motor vehicle. The reporting party stated that while at work, which is located on Greendale Avenue, she discovered Tuesday, Nov. 19 her vehicle’s passenger side tires had been slashed sometime between 2 and 10 p.m. The matter is under investigation.
