A Connecticut woman was placed into protective custody after she allegedly refused to pay a cab fare after being dropped off at the on Thursday, April 19.
Police were called to the Cabot Street hotel at around 1:55 a.m. by a cab driver who was having a dispute with a client over cab fare. The driver told the responding officer that the woman he had picked up in his cab had vomited in the back seat and was refusing to pay her fare.
The woman, a 27-year-old resident of Darien, CT, eventually did pay the money but appeared to be intoxicated, according to reports. She was taken into police custody but not charged.

Dumpster Fire on Fuller Road
Needham Police and officials responded to the report of a Dumpster fire at a Fuller Road residence on Thursday, April 19 at around 1:03 p.m.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the bin “fully involved in flames,” according to reports. Needham firefighters arrived and extinguished the blaze. The fire caused minor damage to the exterior of the home’s garage.
A resident on Coolidge Avenue called police on Friday, April 20 to report that her outdoors lights had been vandalized sometime on April 18.
Peabody Driver Charged in Hit and Run
A Peabody resident was charged with leaving the scene of a crash after he was allegedly involved in a hit and run on May Street on Wednesday, April 18.
Police were called to the scene of a crash at around 10 a.m. The reporting party provided police with the license plate number of the suspect that had hit his vehicle and a description of the operator.
The driver, a 41-year-old Peabody man, was summonsed to court for leaving the scene of a property damage crash.
Intoxicated Man Looks for Lost Bike
Police were called to Hampton Avenue for the report of a suspicious person attempting to access a vehicle in a parking lot at around 2:20 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18.
Upon arrival, police spoke with the individual, who said he was intoxicated and was attempting to locate a bike that he had lost that evening. The man, a 28-year-old Needham resident, was placed in protective custody.
