Police Reports: Suspicious Male Sets Off Alarm at High School

The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

Police responded to an alarm at Needham High School on Friday, Oct. 18 at around 4:55 a.m. and discovered a male party inside the building.

When the individual saw the officer, he reportedly ran away. Police entered the locked building and checked it out with the help of a police K-9 unit. No suspects were located.

The matter remains under investigation.

Man Falls 20 Feet Off Roof 
A man suffered minor injuries after he fell 20 feet off the roof of a house on Bess Road on Wednesday, Oct. 17.

The incident occurred at about 11:38 p.m. The man reportedly refused medical treatment. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified, and a representative came to the scene to investigate.

Mysteriously Shattered Window 
A Chestnut Street resident reported on Wednesday, Oct. 17 that the rear window on the driver's side of her vehicle had shattered while she was exiting Route 95 north, just before the Highland Avenue exit. The woman said she had not seen any other vehicles or people near the vehicle when the window broke.

Resident Reports Internet Fraud 
A Webster Street resident reported Internet fraud on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at around 6:32 p.m. The individual had an issue with an online vehicle purchase. The issue was found to be civil.

Waltham Man Arrested on Default Warrant 
A Waltham man was arrested on a default warrant on Thursday, Oct. 18 at around 12:45 p.m. on Highland Avenue near Carey Road. A Needham officer had run the man's vehicle registration and discovered that it had been revoked because of insurance cancellation. The man, 38-year-old Socorro Alejandro Roca Mendez of Waltham, was also charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Vehicle Struck in Lincoln Street Lot 
Police were called to a Lincoln Street parking lot on Thursday, Oct. 18 for the report of a hit and run accident. The victim showed police fresh white scuff marks on the left rear fender of their vehicle, which had been parked in a buddy space from 12:15-1 p.m. The incident remains under investigation.

Lawn Ornaments Stolen 
A Nehoiden Street resident reported the theft of antique lawn ornaments on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 4:54 p.m.
