Police Reports: Pair Charged With Furnishing Alcohol To Minors

Two Needham residents were charged with furnishing alcohol to minors after police were called to break up a loud party at a Hillside Avenue home on Saturday, Sept. 15.

The call came in at around 9:10 p.m., with a report of loud noise and breaking glass. When an officer arrived, he observed several youth fleeing the house through a basement door. He questioned several people in the residence and ended up charging two of the residents, Nicholas Difazio, 21, and Jarred Difazio, 19, with furnishing alcohol to minors.

In addition, a 17-year-old Newton male was charged with being a minor in possession of alcohol.

Driver Cited For Pot Possession After Skipping Stop Sign
A driver was cited for possession of under one ounce of marijuana after being pulled over on Friday, Sept. 14 for failure to stop at a stop sign. The individual allegedly ran a stop sign at Great Plain Avenue and Nehoiden Street. The driver was cited for the traffic violation as well.

Personal Information Used To Open Account
A Dunbarton Road resident called police on Thursday, Sept. 13 to report that someone had used his Social Security number to open an account with Dish Network. Police helped the man file the appropriate complaints.

Rental Vehicle Missing For More Than A Month
The manager of a Gould Street business reported on Monday, Sept. 17 that a customer had not returned a rental vehicle. The vehicle had been rented on Aug. 3 for three days and had yet to be returned.

The business was able to repossess the vehicle, and the person who leased the car will be summonsed to Dedham District Court for larceny of a motor vehicle.

Warrant Out For Man Driving On Suspended License
A Chelsea man was arrested in Needham on Monday, Sept. 17 after he was found to have a warrant for operating a motor vehicle after his license was suspended.

A Needham officer observed the man's vehicle on Dedham Avenue at around 10:56 a.m. and ran the plates through the Registry of Motor Vehicles. In addition to the suspended license, the man had a warrant for an equipment violation and a marked lane violation.

The officer stopped the vehicle in the rear parking lot of a bank on Great Plain Avenue and confirmed that the driver was the registered owner and the individual named in the warrant. He arrested the driver, who was identified as Manuel Mejia-Garay, 34, of Chelsea.
