Police Reports: NHS Student Found with Pot, Knife

The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

A student was cited for marijuana possession after school staff reported that he appeared to be under the influence on Tuesday, June 11.

A small amount of marijuana and a pocket knife were allegedly found on the 15-year-old's person. Along with the civil citation, he was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon.

Dedham Man Cited for Vehicle Violations
A Dedham man was cited for multiple vehicle violations after being stopped in Needham on Tuesday, June 12 for having a suspended license. The 36-year-old driver was charged with attaching motor vehicle plates, driving without insurance, driving an unregistered motor vehicle and driving with a suspended license.

Woman Cited in Three-Vehicle Crash
Police responded to a three-vehicle crash in the area of Dedham and Great Plain avenues on Wednesday, June 13 at around 9:40 a.m.

After an investigation, a 64-year-old Needham woman was cited for failure to use care in stopping and operating an unregistered motor vehicle after her vehicle rear-ended another vehicle and pushed the second vehicle into the back of a third vehicle.

Two vehicles had to be towed from the scene. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to for unspecified injuries.

Police observed fresh graffiti on the field house at on Thursday, June 14 at around 12:54 a.m.

Individual Taken to Hospital after Crash
One individual was transported to the hospital on Thursday, June 14 after being involved in a motor vehicle accident on Highland Avenue. The transport was for precautionary measures.

Local Man Arrested on Default Warrant
A Needham man was arrested for outstanding vehicle violations after being pulled over on Webster Street on Thursday, June 14.

Police made the stop after entering the vehicle's license plate and noting that the registered owner had a default warrant out of Dorchester District Court. The driver, a 49-year-old Needham resident, was arrested.

Two Injured in Crash
Police were called to the intersection of Manning and Powers streets on Thursday, June 14 for the report of a two-vehicle crash with personal injury. One male and one female were taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham. One vehicle was towed from the scene. A female driver was cited for failure to obey a traffic sign.

Social Security Checks Sent to Jamaica
A Central Avenue resident called police on Friday, June 15 after discovering that her Social Security checks had been redirected to Jamaica.

Cyclist Crashes into Vehicle
Police responded to a cyclist versus vehicle crash at Manson and Highland Avenue on Monday, June 18 at around 12:54 p.m. The cyclist reportedly rode into the back of the vehicle, which was stopped at a light.
