Police Reports: NHS Student Found with Marijuana

The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

A student was cited for marijuana possession after he was found with a bag of marijuana at school.

Police were called to the school on Monday, April 30 at around 10 a.m. after a teacher reported that a student “smelled of marijuana,” according to reports. The student was called to the office and was found to have a plastic bag containing a “green leafy substance” in his possession.

The student, a 16-year-old male, was cited for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.

Vehicle Window Smashed, GPS Taken
A vehicle on Kendrick Street was broken into on Tuesday, May 1 and a Garmin GPS was taken. Police responded to the area near Cutler Park at around 3:24 p.m. Someone had smashed out the driver’s side window and taken the GPS, according to reports. Police are investigating.

Teens Found Smoking Pot in Parking Lot
Police were called to Perrault Road on Tuesday, May 1 at around 10:40 p.m. for the report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, police found that three 18-year-old Needham males were parked in the rear lot and had been smoking marijuana. The teens allegedly admitted to smoking but had consumed all the marijuana, according to reports. No charges were mentioned in the police report.

Resident’s Social Security Number Used
A Beaufort Avenue resident discovered that her Social Security number had been used by someone else when she attempted to file her taxes online. The resident reported the incident to police on Wednesday, May 2. The IRS was also notified of the situation.

Mountain Bike Stolen from Outside Store
A mountain bike was reported stolen from outside on Highland Avenue on Wednesday, May 2. The bike owner told police that the silver Trek 6500 mountain bike had been taken between 3 and 3:15 p.m. The bike is valued at $700.
