Police Reports: Man Charged With OUI After Crashing Into Pole, Truck

The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

A Needham man was arrested for drunk driving after he crashed his vehicle into a telephone pole and parked truck on Friday, Sept. 28.

The crash occurred at around 2:21 a.m. on Chestnut Street. When police arrived at the scene, they found that an Audi sedan had crashed “through a phone pole and into a parked pickup truck.” The driver, a 43-year-old Needham man, was taken to the hospital. He was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, driving to endanger and speeding.

Resident Arrested on Default Warrant
Police were called to Captain Robert Cook Drive residence on Tuesday, Sept. 25 for the report of a past assault and battery. After investigating, police learned that one of the individuals at the home had a default warrant. The individual, Jamie L. Moore, 22, of Needham, was arrested.

Rental Vehicle Several Weeks Overdue
An employee at the Vehicle Rental Shop at Muzi Motors, 557 Highland Ave., reported on Wednesday, Sept. 26 that a customer was several weeks late returning a rental. The vehicle had been due back on Sept. 11.

Police made several attempts but were unable to contact the person who had rented the vehicle. The vehicle was entered as stolen in the Criminal Justice Information Services system.

Vehicle Damages Resident’s Fence
A South Street resident called police on Friday, Sept. 28 at 10:27 a.m. after discovering that a vehicle had struck and damaged a portion of wood fencing on his property. At the scene, police observed “unidentifiable tire marks” in the grass. The homeowner estimated the repairs would cost about $500. He was advised to notify his insurance company about the damage.
