Police Reports: Larcenies Reported at Senior Community

The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

A resident at Wingate at Needham reported larceny on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 2:43 p.m. The resident told police that $170 in cash had been taken from her purse 10 days earlier. A second resident reported that a necklace and earrings had been stolen. The matter remains under investigation.

Online Shopping Fraud Reported 
An Old Farm Road resident came to the police station on Monday, Oct. 15 to report possible identity theft. The individual told police that they had been contacted about online purchases that were made with their personal information and without their knowledge. The incident was documented, and the appropriate institutions were notified.

Defective Lights End in Arrest 
A Waltham man was arrested on Monday, Oct. 15 for driving with a suspended license and underage transportation of alcohol.

Police stopped a vehicle for defective tail lights on Highland Avenue at around 10:30 p.m. The officer ran the license of the driver, 18-year-old Miguel Ponte of Stearns Hill Road, Waltham, and found that it was suspended.

Harassing Phone Calls 
A Central Avenue resident contacted police on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 3:17 a.m. to report receiving harassing phone calls. The resident told police that the calls had come from an employee's husband. Police contacted the caller and advised him to stop calling.

Vehicle Stolen from Muzi Motors 
Police responded to the report of a vehicle stolen from Muzi Chevrolet on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 4:40 p.m. After a short investigation, the vehicle was recovered in Waltham. 

Break-in on Great Plain Avenue 
A Great Plain Avenue resident reported a break-in on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 6:41 p.m. The resident had returned home to find a door and window open. Police are still investigating.

Needham Man Arrested on Warrant 
A Longfellow Road resident who was arrested on a warrant on Tuesday, Oct. 16 was also found to have revoked vehicle registration and no insurance. The man's vehicle was towed and he was summonsed to court on the vehicle violations.
