Police Reports: Kitchen Fire on Hillside Avenue

The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

A kitchen fire was reported at a home on Hillside Avenue on Saturday, Nov. 3 at about 1:48 p.m. The Needham Fire Department was able to contain the fire to the kitchen area. The fire appeared to have been caused by a lamp sitting against combustible materials.

Bike Stolen from Back Patio 
A bike was reported stolen from the back patio of a Greendale Avenue home on Saturday, Oct. 3. The bike was described as a teal green “specialized road bike” and valued at about $200.

Break-in Reported at High Street Home 
A break-in was reported a High Street home on Sunday, Nov. 4. One person was working in the house and confronted another person who had walked into the open basement and taken several items. The witness gave a description and aided in the investigation.

Dorchester Man Arrested for OUI 
A Dorchester man was arrested for operating under the influence on Wednesday, Oct. 3 after being involved in a motor vehicle accident without injury.

Pumps Stolen from Garage 
A garage on Great Plain Avenue reported larceny on Tuesday, Oct. 30. Sometime over the preceding weekend, someone had stolen four pumps off his plows. The plows were valued at about $4,800. Police are investigating.

Missing Person on Greendale Avenue 
A person was reported missing from a Greendale Avenue residence on Wednesday, Oct. 31. Police located the missing person at a Highland Avenue business and helped the person home.

Weymouth Man Arrested for OUI 
A Weymouth man was arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol after he was involved in a motor vehicle crash in the area of Central Avenue and Fisher Street on Saturday, Nov. 3.
