Police Reports: Halloween Decorations Stolen

The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

A Sterling Road resident reported on Saturday, Oct. 20 that their Halloween decorations were stolen.

Other incidents included in the Oct. 23 Needham Police reports:

Failure to Register as Sex Offender 
A Boston man was arrested on Friday, Oct. 19 for failure to register as a sex offender. Needham police encountered the man, 57-year-old Gilbert James of Boston, at around 9:45 a.m. on Wexford Street.

Woman Placed Into Protective Custody 
A disturbance was reported at a Tillotson Road residence on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 11:05 p.m. Police placed a reportedly "highly intoxicated" woman into protective custody.

Argument Over Ex's Property 
Police were called to a Highland Terrace residence on Thursday, Oct. 18 at around 11 p.m. for the report of a disturbance. A woman at the home told police that she had had a verbal argument with her ex-boyfriend, who had allegedly made "verbal threats" against her. When his family came to collect the man's property, there was another argument. The two parties agreed to schedule a time to exchange the items later.

Needham Man Arrested on Warrant 
Police arrested a Neeedham man on a warrant on Tuesday, Oct. 16 near the intersection of Longfellow Road and Webster Street. After an investigation, police discovered that the vehicle was being operated with a revoked registration and no insurance. The vehicle was towed, and the driver will be summonsed to court to answer the motor vehicle charges.

Red Light Violation Leads to Arrest 
A 27-year-old Brockton man allegedly ran a red light at Highland Avenue and May Street on Friday, Oct. 19 at 8:33 a.m. He was arrested for having a revoked license.

Man Cited For Attaching Wrong Plates 
Police stopped a vehicle for having a defective exhaust system on Highland Avenue on Friday, Oct. 19 at around 12:57 p.m. It was determined that the registration plates were not the ones assigned to the vehicle. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver, a 19-year-old Roslindale man was summonsed to Dedham District Court for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and attaching the wrong plates. He was warned about the defective equipment.

Woman Summonsed for Disturbing the Peace 
Police were called to a Captain Robert Cook Drive residence on Saturday, Oct. 20 at around 3:46 a.m. for the report of an ongoing verbal argument. An 18-year-old Needham woman will be summonsed for disturbing the peace.

Hit and Run in Sudbury Farms Lot 
A Newton resident reported that her vehicle was hit by another vehicle while it was parked in the lot at Sudbury Farms on Saturday, Oct. 20. There were no witnesses.

Car Break-in on Linden Street 
A vehicle on Linden Street was broken into sometime overnight between Friday, Oct. 19 and Sunday, Oct. 20.

Hit and Run on Highland Avenue 
A hit and run involving two motor vehicles was reported near Sudbury Farms, 1177 Highland Ave., on Sunday, Oct. 21 at around 6:37 p.m. Police did not locate the second vehicle. No one was injured in the accident.

Unknown Vehicle Strikes Van Door 
A West Street resident reported a hit and run crash on Sunday, Oct. 21 at around 8 p.m. The victim said a dark-colored vehicle had struck the open cargo door of his van and continued on. He was unable to get a make, model or exact color of the second vehicle.
