Police Reports: Electronics Taken From Lincoln St. Home

The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

Several electronic items were stolen in a break-in at a Lincoln Street home on Sunday, March 3.

The resident called police around 11 a.m. after returning home to find the front door ajar. Electronics and several other items were reported missing.

Needham detectives are investigating.

Driving with Suspended License
A 27-year-old Needham man was pulled over on Webster Street for operating with a suspended license on Friday, March 2. The man was summonsed to court on the charge.

iPhone Missing From NHS
A student reported that her iPhone was taken out of her backpack while she was at gym class on Thursday, March 3. The matter is being investigated.

Walk Sign Found on Ground
A pedestrian sign at Great Plain and Greendale avenues was found on the ground on Friday, March 1 around 5:20 p.m. The sign was still operational but its wires were exposed, according to reports. The Needham Department of Public Works was notified and the area was blocked off.

Foxboro Man Charged With OUI
A Foxboro resident was charged with OUI after police came across him parked at the on Highland Avenue around 2:14 a.m. on Saturday, March 3

An officer approached the vehicle to talk with the driver and noted a “strong odor of alcohol” coming from the individual, according to reports. The man, a 29-year-old Foxboro resident, was arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol.

Fraud Reported on Mills Road
Police were called to a Mills Road residence on Saturday, March 3 for the report of a past fraud. Police determined the matter was civil, not criminal.

House Number Sign Stolen
A Central Avenue resident reported on Sunday, March 4 that their wooden street number sign was stolen from their light post. The post wasn’t damaged. The resident said the damage had been done sometime in the past two or three days.

Pedestrian Struck
A woman was transported to the hospital on Sunday, March 4 after she was hit by a vehicle on Great Plain Avenue near Needham Square.

The driver had been making a right turn onto Dedham Avenue from Great Plain around 1:14 p.m. when she struck the woman with her vehicle, according to reports. The driver told police she hadn’t seen the pedestrian because she had walked out from behind a parked vehicle and wasn’t in the designated crosswalk.

Vehicle Smoking in Needham Center
Needham Police and responded to the report of a large amount of smoke coming from a vehicle parked on Chapel Street on Sunday, March 4. An employee at a nearby business had extinguished the fire before firefighters arrived. The vehicle was towed from the scene. No injuries were reported.

Florida Man Driving on Suspended MA License
A 21-year-old Florida man was stopped on Central Avenue on Monday, March 27 for having an expired registration sticker. The operator had a valid Florida license but his license to operate in Massachusetts was suspended. The man’s vehicle was towed and the driver was summonsed to court for operating with a suspended license and driving an unregistered motor vehicle.
