Police Reports: Aly Raisman Banner Stolen

The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

A Needham town employee reported on Friday, Aug. 31 that an Aly Raisman banner had been stolen from one of the light poles on the Chapel Street side of . The banner was stolen sometime between Wednesday and Friday.

Tractor-Trailer Driver Knocks Over Street Sign
Police were called to Chestnut Street on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 12:40 p.m. to speak with the driver of a tractor-trailer who had knocked over a street sign at the intersection of Kimball and Warren streets. The driver was identified, and his information was taken before he was sent on his way.

Resident’s Information Used in Florida
A Bobsled Drive resident reported that someone in Florida had gained access to his Social Security number and other personal information. No funds were reported missing from the man’s accounts, and it appears that the individual used the information only for employment purposes.

$500 Charged to Resident’s Credit Card
A Pond Street resident reported on Tuesday, Sept. 4 that someone had illegally charged $572 on her credit card. She had already notified her credit card company of the fraudulent charges. The matter is under investigation.

Driver Strikes Pole To Avoid Kids in Street
Police were called to Chestnut Street on Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 12:11 a.m. for the report of a motor vehicle crash. The vehicle had struck a light pole outside of on Chestnut Street.

After speaking with the driver, police learned that the driver had struck the light post to avoid hitting a person in the street. Police later learned that a group of kids was involved in the incident.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.
