Police Log: Hit and Run on Central Ave.

The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

Needham Police were dispatched to the area of Central Ave. at Webster St. at 7:28 a.m. on Sept. 8 for a report of a hit and run.

The operator of a black Cadillac reported that she was stopped on Webster when a “silver or grey” small car hit her own. The other vehicle, she said, was driving the wrong way around the traffic island at the time of the crash. After swerving into the reporting party’s car, the offending vehicle reportedly drove away from the scene.

The reporting party said that several other cars were in the area at the time of the accident, but that they left prior to officer arrival. The reporting party also gave officers a wheel cover that she believed came off of the other car as it struck the traffic island.
