Police: ID Fraud; Teen Arrested for B&E; Fight Over a Lighter

The following are excerpts from the Needham police log. An arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, June 24 

  • At 10:30 a.m., police responded to a residence on Old Farm Road on a report that someone had broken in to the home while the residents were away. A 15-year-old Needham resident will be charged in juvenile court with B&E. 
  • At 1 p.m., police responded to a call from a Crescent Road address for a report of annoying phone calls 
  • At 3:10 p.m., officers took a report involving a hit and run crash that took place at BI Deaconess Glover Hospital on the day before. 
  • At 5:30 p.m., a perform came into police headquarters to file a report for fraud. The suspect had been using the person's name and personal information to rent apartments in Needham and Newton and has been leaving the apartments without paying the rent. 
Wednesday, June 25 

  • At 8:49 a.m., a resident visited the department to report that he had deposited money for a summer camp that had shut down. He said he just wanted his money back. 
  • At 9:27 a.m., police responded to a medical office to take a report regarding the larceny of an employee's wallet. The wallet had been in her desk drawer and was gone later. 
  • At 2:55 p.m., a person at a Kendrick Street business reported getting a threatening letter sent to an employee 
  • At 7:05 p.m., police responded to a disturbance at a West Street residence. The argument was verbal in nature, and about a lighter.
