Pedestrian Hit in Needham Police Log: Dec. 27 - 29

Friday, Dec. 27

11:50 p.m.: Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Dedham Avenue and South Street. After an investigation it was determined that the vehicle attempting to take a left on South Street from Dedham Avenue failed to yield the right of way to a vehicle travelling straight ahead on Dedham Avenue. The driver was cited for the accident.


Saturday, Dec. 28

1:35 a.m.: Police were dispatched to the intersection of Great Plain Avenue and South Street for a report of a dispute over cab fare. The matter was able to be resolved, both parties went their separate way.

6:10 p.m.: Police responded to a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle. The vehicle on Highland Avenue traveling towards Newton was described as a grey Infinity with a New York plate. The correct registration was not given. The victim, a 57-year-old Brockton female, suffered a laceration to the head and was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess.

9:30 p.m.: Police responded to a Curve Street address to speak to the resident there regarding some suspicious phone calls he had received. It was determined that the calls were coming from a former co-worker and it was simply a misunderstanding. The resident was advised of his rights to a harassment prevention order.


Sunday, Dec. 29

4:06 p.m.: Police responded to a Colby Street residence for a report of a past larceny. At some point, approximately $10,000 worth of jewelry was taken from the home. The scene was processed by Needham Police Department detectives and the larceny is being investigated.
