OMGPD: Flaming Bananas, a Family Feud and the Revenge of the Newly Fired

Our weekly compilation of some of the more unusual police reports from around the Boston area. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Bananas Foster to Your Door
In Wayland, a Three Ponds Road resident responded to a ringing doorbell on the morning of Aug. 7 and found a flaming mess on his doorstep. No, it wasn't the typical flaming "mess" one finds on the doorstep. The resident called Wayland Police to report that someone put bananas in paper, lit the paper on fire, rang the doorbell and fled.

Family Feud
At 4:51 p.m. on Aug. 3, Sudbury Police officers responded to a domestic problem on Concord Avenue when a mother told the department her son was being an "expletive." The responding officers determined the argument was between two brothers. Officers calmed the scene before leaving.

Gosh, I Left The Cash Right Here
A caller at 1200 Beacon St. in Brookline reported that he had gone for a run with a friend and left his shorts in the atrium of the building. When he returned, he found that the cash he had recently taken out of an ATM was missing from the wallet.

Fired and Frustrated
A witness saw someone get out of her car and key the passenger's side of a nearby vehicle parked on Harvard Street before 11 a.m. Police determined that the woman had been fired by her employer at about 10:30 a.m., and that the vandalized vehicle belonged to her former employer. Police issued a warrant to charge her with malicious damage.

Repeat Performance
A Waltham man faces numerous charges after Watertown Police arrested him for allegedly breaking into cars in a parking garage on Galen Street. Police recognized the suspect from previous incidents in Watertown. Before breaking into the cars, the man allegedly tried to break into a home on Main Street and a business on Pleasant Street.
