Officers Hope to Identify Abandoned Dog

The dog was found starving and locked in a crate in the woods.

Needham Police officials are hoping that residents may know a starved dog found abandoned in a crate in a Needham forest.

April, as officials are calling her, was found on April 8, locked in a crate in the woods, according to police. A resident reportedly came across the canine and called for help.

April was brought to the on Wellesley Avenue. Police say that she is suffering from starvation, as well as other medical issues.

“Due to the terrible condition of April, her medical bill is adding up fast,” read a statement issued by Needham Police.

Despite April’s condition, police said that “her spirits are high and she is on the road to recovery.”
