Needham Woman Rounded Up in Boston Drug Sweep

Boston Police arrested Kristen Lovett, 31, in a sweep of people police claim were buying or selling drugs on the streets.

A Needham woman was picked up by Boston Police in a sweep of street-level drug buying and selling.

Boston Police arrested Kristen Lovett, 31, of Needham on Tuesday and charged her with possession of class A and B drugs. Class A includes heroin, and Class B includes cocaine, Oxycontin and amphetamine.

The arrest was part of what Boston cops called "Operation Bright Lights." The sweep netted 11 people who police claim where either buying or selling drugs on Boston streets on Tuesday.

Others arrested in the sweep included the following persons:

  • Jill McGaffigan, 24, of Dedham, possession of class B drugs
  • Lang Leonard, 58, of Roxbury, Possession of a class B drugs
  • Shayne Stilphen, 21, of Roxbury, Possession of class B drugs
  • Jay Boyns, 23, of Duxbury, Distribution of class B drugs
  • Robert Sullivan, 24, of Haverhill, Possession of class B drugs
  • Nicholas Call, 28, of Roxbury, Distribution of class B and Distribution of class B drugs within 1,000 feet of a school zone
  • Dana Funderburg, 50, of Roxbury, Distribution of class A drugs, and Distribution of class A drugs within 100 feet of a park, as well as Possession of class A drugs with intent to distribute
  • Ronald Mack, 55, of Roxbury, Possession of class A drugs
  • Kenneth L. Scott, 40, of Dorchester, Distribution of class B drugs, and Possession of class B drugs with intent to distribute
  • Amin Shareef, 61, of Dorchester, Possession of class B drugs
