Needham Police Report: Teens Found With Beer, Vodka

The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

On Aug. 17 at 10 p.m., Needham police found three cars in the Good Sheppard Church parking lot on Greendale Avenue. One of the cars left the lot, and a silver can was thrown out of the car into the woods. The car was stopped and 19 beers, and an unopened bottle of Grey Goose vodka were found in the car. The driver, a 19-year-old Hyde Park man, and four males from Needham will be charged with being under the age of 21 and in possession of alcohol, police said.

Hit and Run

A hit and run accident was reported on Aug. 19 at 7:51 a.m. on Highland Avenue. A driver told police a black Honda sedan hadn't stopped for a red light and hit the front of her car. Police are investigating. A second hit and run accident was reported at 9 a.m. on Wachusettt Road. A car there had been hit over night, and there was debris in the road. Police are investigating.

GPS Stolen

On Aug. 19 at 2:54 p.m. a car break-in was reported on Richdale Road. Between 1 and 6 a.m., a GPS and iPod adapter cord were taken from a car parked in a driveway, police said.

OUI Charge

A Rhode Island woman was arrested on Aug. 20 at 12:30 a.m. on Great Plain Avenue and charged with OUI liquor. Louise Somberg, 48, of East Greenwich, was also charged with unlicensed driving, police said.

Drunk Walking

Police noticed an intoxicated man walking on Aug. 19 at 11:21 p.m. on Manning Street. The man, 19, said he had been drinking at a friend's house. He was taken home by police and released into the custody of his mother, police said.
