Needham Police Log:

The following information was supplied by the Needham Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.


Thursday, July 4
  • While patrolling the Greendale Avenue area at 1:30 a.m, police saw a suspicious man. When they spoke to him, they took the 21-year-old Needham resident into protective custody, then released him to his father.
  • A Warren Street resident told police that he believed he lost his wallet on Memorial Field somewhere during the fireworks the night before. 
  • At about 10:45 p.m., police responded to a party reported on Rae Avenue. A few youths were seen leaving the property with alcohol in plain sight. The owner of the house will be summonsed to court for distribution of alcohol to minors. 
Friday, July 5 
  • At about 1 p.m., police were informed of a possible fraud at Citizens Bank. Two customers in the bank reported getting several phone calls from someone claiming to be the Publisher's Clearing House. The callers were told that, in order to claim their winnings, they had to provide them with a $250 Green Dot card number, which police believe is a scam.
Saturday, July 6 
  • Police received notification of a disturbance at the Sheraton Hotel at about 5:45 a.m., and wound up arresting a 33-year-old Everett woman, Valery Aristil, and charging her on an outstanding default warrant and for driving after a suspension.
  • About $500 in cash was taken from a locker belonging to a Dale Street resident at the YMCA pool, reported at about 9 a.m.
Sunday, July 7 
  • A New York man reported to police that his car had been scratched while parked overnight on High Rock Street sometime before 10 a.m. The scratch on the passenger side of the car appeared to be unintentional, but he was advised to contact his insurance company.
